There is a kind of Japanese sake called amazake which contains no alcohol. Like Japanese sake, it is made from rice, koji, and water, but stopped fermentation before alcohol was created. It contains a lot of glucose as well as nutrients such as various vitamins so it is also referred to as “drinkable IV drip.” It tastes sweet like sugar with unique flavor. It is a healthy ingredient that is used as a substitute for sugar because of its sweetness.
